@lee when I deleted my facebook, years ago, there was the option to download all my data. There's a .zip living somewhere in my files in case I ever want to see my old communications.
@lee You do know the conversations can be downloaded too? Or is it the UI important context for the memory? I downloaded my info last week. I always get stuck at the last step: contacting people that has posted pictures of me that I want to have removed before I delete.
@lee it's been 10 months since I deleted all my Facebook accounts. Overall worth it.

Zuckerberg Announces Fantasy World Where Facebook Is Not a Horrible Company
https://www.vice.com/en/article/qjb485/zuckerberg-facebook-new-name-meta-metaverse-presentation
"The future Zuckerberg went on to pitch was a delusional fever dream cribbed most obviously from dystopian science fiction and misleading or outright fabricated virtual reality product pitches from the last decade."
An artist:
1. bought an Andy Warhol drawing for $20,000.
2. made 999 high-quality forgeries.
3. shuffled them.
4. sold each of the 1000 drawings for $250.
You might get the original $20,000 Warhol, but you’ll never know. This hurts my brain and I'm loving it!
It's a reasonable price for common art. No lottery. Nobody is ripped off. The artist profits hugely, yet gives away a unique item far below market value, but its receiver won't know.
It challenges our value system in very Warhol-way.

@lee It is deliberately not a feature. It's controversial, I know. I need to write a blog post about it at some point.
